1. What is ShareTheLodge?

ShareTheLodge helps solo travellers find others with similar travel dates and destinations — so you can share accommodation and make your budget go further.

It’s not a booking site — we simply help you connect, and you make your own bookings directly.

2. How does it work?

1. Fill in the form with your trip details.

2. Preview your potential matches — see who’s travelling where and when.

3. Unlock full match details (like age range, gender, and contact info) with a small one-time fee if you’d like to connect.

3. Who is it for?

Anyone doing a solo stay — whether your whole trip is solo, or just a few days before or after travelling with friends.

4. Is it free to use?

Yes — you can preview matches for free.

A small one-time fee only applies if you choose to unlock full match details and contact someone.

5. How are matches made?

Matches are based on common destination and gender preferences (if any). We'll keep improving the matches as more travellers join.

6. How are users verified?

At this beta stage, all verifications are done manually using the social media profiles users provide (Facebook or Instagram).

We check that each profile appears genuine and active before sharing match details.

7. Is ShareTheLodge a booking platform?

No. We don’t handle payments or bookings. Once you find a match, you’ll make your own arrangements directly (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.).

8. What if my match doesn’t reply or it doesn’t work out?

No worries — sometimes travel plans change. You can wait for other matches, or update your details anytime.

We’re still in beta, so every bit of feedback helps improve the process.

9. Why just Japan and New Zealand?

We’re starting small to keep matches accurate. For now, we’re focused on key ski towns where solo travellers often overlap. More destinations will be added as we grow.

10. Can I suggest new destinations or features?

Definitely! We’re building this with the community.
